Only Chefs: Innovative New Platform Helps Employers Find and Recruit Chefs

With the highest ever rate of new restaurant openings (179!) in the capital recently recorded in the 25th edition of Harden’s London Restaurants, it’s hardly surprising that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to attract, hire and retain chefs. Couple this with a much publicised chef shortage gripping the UK, and it’s no wonder that many fear we’re heading for a ‘perfect storm’ scenario.

Enter onlychefs.co.uk – an innovative new website that aims to make it easier for London employers and chefs to connect directly with each other online.

Neither a recruitment agency nor job board, Only Chef’s approach is simple, but unique; chefs post (a profile) about what makes them great, listing experiences, qualifications and more, which is then promoted out to employers, who search, shortlist and contact suitable candidates directly to discuss their job opportunities.

“With Only Chefs we’ve turned the job hunting process on its head.” Notes Mark Milner, the sites Founder. “We’re all about people not jobs so our chefs don’t spend all their time applying to endless ads and never hearing anything back. Employers and their jobs find them.”

Milner continues; “We’re directly connecting chefs with employers without the need for job boards or recruitment agencies, and we’re doing this in a way and format that shortens hiring times and reduces cost.”

The website is focused on creating a quality led community of chefs looking for work, an area Milner highlights as fundamental in helping to combat current pressures in the industry; “Employers want quality over quantity and we’re aiming to provide this regardless of whether you’re looking to hire a commis chef or executive chef.”

Only Chefs offer simple and transparent pricing (from £50) as well as the ability for employers to search, view and shortlist chef profiles (in basic mode) as many times as they like, completely free of charge.

Milner concludes “Only Chefs offers an innovative alternative to the more traditional methods used by most employers to hire kitchen professionals, while enabling chefs who are looking for work to be easily found and contacted by employers.”
