Peter Cheese, Chief Executive of the CIPD, said:

“We’ve seen a significant amount of change since last year’s awards, particularly in the political landscape. The need to engage with our people, to ensure we are recognising and valuing diversity, to encourage their well-being, and to understand the outcomes of what we do in driving innovation, adaptation, and productivity have never been more important. The changing contexts of work don’t look like they’re going to slow down any time soon. In the first few months of this year alone we’ll see the National Living Wage increase, Gender Pay Gap reporting come into force, as well as the arrival of the highly-anticipated Apprenticeship Levy.

“Much of this change has and will have a direct impact on the HR and L&D professions. We need to continue to evolve, to innovate, to drive value and to understand risks, whilst delivering clear and effective people management and development initiatives. This year’s People Management awards will recognise the teams and individuals that are achieving excellence through initiatives that not only fit changing contexts, but continue to champion better work and working lives. I wish all entrants the best of luck and look forward to celebrating the outstanding results that have been achieved over the last 12 months.”

Mike Beesley, CEO of Headline Sponsor Resource Management (RM), said:
