After a 77-year drought, the Great British public finally witnessed a male Brit claim a major grand slam victory on home soil on Sunday as Andy Murray triumphed at Wimbledon.

The Scot sealed the win in straight sets against world number one Novak Djokovic in what was an enthralling spectacle. Fred Perry was the last Brit to win the men’s Wimbledon final back in 1936 (when tennis players still competed in trousers), so the pressure on Murray to deliver the long awaited goods was enormous.
