Research by totaljobs has found that 71% of British businesses still do not believe the target of full employment will be achieved in the next five years.
The research was revealed in totaljobs’ February Employer Insights Report. The report also found that nearly half (49%) of British businesses anticipate that recruitment will become more difficult over the next couple of years, with the average number of candidates interviewed per role currently at six. Given that the average business has around five positions available at any time, employers are likely to be interviewing up to 30 potential candidates at any one time.
Almost third (31%) of the businesses surveyed believe that the time it takes to fill roles will increase in the next five years.
