Commenting on the launch, Ann Swain, CEO of APSCo said:
“After successfully expanding into Asia in 2013, we made the strategic decision to move into Europe’s largest economy in response to member demand.”
“Along with the UK, Germany is the success story of post-recession Europe. Just this week, the Chancellor, George Osborne, described the UK and German economies as “the beating heart of Europe” and “the engine for growth and jobs” as he detailed how the two countries has generated two-thirds of EU growth since the financial crisis ended. There is no question that opportunities in this area are vast, and I’m proud that this venture will enable us meet the needs of ambitious recruiters who are expanding internationally.”
“I’d like to welcome on board Tremayne Elson, who, thanks to his extensive expertise in recruitment and understanding of the local market, is very well qualified to lead this expansion. With his network, knowledge and know-how I have no doubt that he will have every success in shaping and developing our German offering.”
Commenting on his appointment as Managing Director of APSCo Germany, Tremayne Elson said;
“I’m privileged to be heading-up APSCo Germany. It should be emphasised that, from the very outset, APSCo is creating a local German Trade Association for professional staffing firms active in Germany. We already have an impressive mix of German, Dutch, French and British Founding Members, and are already seeing growing interest from German companies seeking a proactive, creative and international trade association.”
“From the start, APSCo will be providing bi-lingual support and events throughout Germany, the offering of services will be similar to other markets, but provided with local expertise and experience. Being a fluent German speaker certainly helps, however we’ll be adding native German staff as we expand.”
“My recruiting background in Germany goes back to 1997 when I first established local operations of an international recruitment firm. For 21 years I’ve been building desks and then businesses, focussed on Germany, Russian & CEE. This culminated in a €25million transaction.”
“I’m delighted to have been appointed MD for Germany and look forward to combining my “in country” experience with the immense knowledge of the APSCo team and the network of specialist partners we are currently developing in Germany.”
