CV-Library Takes on the Capital

CV-Library, the UK’s fastest-growing job site, has today announced that it is opening a landmark office in London to support its rapid expansion. Serving as a hub for CV-Library’s growth, the new office, which opens on the 4th of January, will put the company in the middle of the City’s bustling talent pool, as well as serving the business’ major accounts.

Created in 2000, the job board has grown at a rapid pace; just last month it was crowned ‘Best Generalist Job Board’ at the National Online Recruitment Awards 2015. The site currently boasts over 125,000 jobs from over 10,500 clients, as well as an impressive candidate database of over 9.5 million CVs. In addition to 2016’s planned growth, Q1 of 2015 saw the Hampshire-based business expand into a second office, as its employee count grew by 44% in 2015 alone, with 38 new recruits joining the team.

This latest announcement comes days after the business revealed it had reached 100 million job applications, showing that the company is going from strength to strength, and has no intentions of slowing down its expansion. With more focus expected to be placed on growing accounts across the country, CV-Library looks positioned to continue its success throughout 2016.

“After such a strong year, we have real ambitions to take the business to the next level,” comments Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library. “The company is growing beyond all expectations, and an office in London is the first step in our plan for expansion across the country; this new regional office will be the first of many over the coming years.

“This will help us to secure a long-term expansion for the business, enabling us to really rival the competition. It will also allow us to continue to provide clients with our high-quality service from our Head Offices, whilst further strengthening our relationships with new clients. In pushing the CV-Library brand even further, we’ll strive to ensure our clients continue to receive the best talent.”

CV-Library is one of the UK’s largest online job sites, with the UK’s biggest database of over 12m CVs. The company was founded in 2000 as a response to Lee’s identification of a market niche. As a young carpet fitter at the time struggling to find work, Lee saw a need for an easy-to-use job board benefiting both job hunters and recruiters. With a £9k loan and help from a web developer, the CV-Library website was built. Lee’s raw passion and hands-on marketing strategies lifted the business off the ground and it is this that continues to push his company to new heights.

The business is now one of the fastest growing websites in the country. The team is expanding rapidly, now employing over 200 staff. It has also launched sister website, Resume Library, in the US, where the company is set to expand and take the brand global over the coming years. Lee puts the reason for his success down to working incredibly hard, loving what he does and a strong desire to make the business the best it can be.

Lee has received over 50 awards and accolades to date and was last year recognised as Entrepreneur of the Year. In April 2015 CV-Library was also ranked as number 49 in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100.
