FCC Paragon Launches New Employment Referencing Service to Cut Recruitment Costs

Tenancy referencing firm, FCC Paragon, has launched a new service, RECREF, enabling them to perform pre and post-employment screening and background checks to both recruitment agencies and direct employers alike.

As well as general running costs, one of the biggest costs to any company is its employees. Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) predicts that every time a business replaces a salaried employee, it costs 6 to 9 months’ salary on average, therefore employing the right person from the outset can help organisations save thousands.

With over 25 years’ experience in the lettings industry carrying out referencing checks on tenants, FCC Paragon says they have witnessed all manner of ways in which applicants will stretch the truth when it comes to their employment references.  As a result, they identified the need for a bespoke employment referencing service.

Managing Director of FCC Paragon, Bryn Cole, says:

“Providing a new employee meets your expectations and goes on to work for you successfully, the employment cost can balance out.  However, in a world of increasing chicanery and misrepresentations it has never been more important to be thorough when checking the qualifications and references a potential candidate claims to be in possession of.”

A survey carried out in 2018 by CV Library revealed that an astounding 92.5% of British applicants stated that they had gotten away with falsification on their CV, and an even more surprising, 71.6% confirmed that they were offered employment as a result.

“We understand the challenges and cost implications organisations face when trying to identify the appropriate personnel for their business and have spent 18 months developing and testing the functionality of RECREF.  The key advantage is that the automated checks are also backed up by our team of experts, meaning that discrepancies are deftly picked and fully investigated. While the service is available to any industry, we have already had a number of letting agents successfully trialling it” adds Bryn Cole.

RECREF, in partnership with the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation), provides the following services: Adverse Credit Checks, Enhanced ID Searches, Character References, Employment Screening, Basic Criminal Checks, Right to Work Checks, Driving Licence Checks, Verification of Higher Education, Directorship Checks and Financial Services Register Checks.

Prices start from £10 per check, with bulk discount for four or more services.
