Bristol-based recruitment agency, Heat Recruitment, are reporting significant internal growth within the first half of 2019. The agency put it down to a significant forecasting strategy teamed with a commitment to continuously bolster their employer brand and incentive offering for their staff.

The agency have taken on 22 new recruits since January – and with four more set to start by September, progress doesn’t seem to be slowing.

In a bid to boost morale even further the company are currently undertaking a soft launch to a new flexible working scheme. This arrangement currently sees the workday being reduced by two and a half hours, without any change to pay. When they get to the final round of trials, this scheme will expand to cover remote working and flexible hours also.

Following their placement in The Sunday Times Best Small Companies List 2019 (37th place), Heat Recruitment have continued to add to the bonuses they have on offer to their staff. They believe their offering adds to their attraction strategy, as they aim to bring in young talent who are prioritising other forms of incentivisation than just a healthy salary.

Some examples of their perk offering include:

  • Duvet Days (wellbeing-related days off)
  • Month-long sabbaticals for every five years of service
  • A free on-site gym
  • Top performer trips to Michelin Star restaurants and abroad

Speaking on the levels of growth, Operations Director, James Ackland said:

“The market is right for recruitment right now and business truly is booming. Not only have recruiters been named one of the happiest professions in the UK, but the job itself can be truly rewarding. It’s up to senior management to boost this even further.

“Your team are the lifeblood of your business, look after them and they will ultimately look after you, your business, the clients and your candidates. The growth Heat are experiencing right now is thanks to the consistent and thorough hard work invested by each and every one of our staff. They are great and certainly deserve these rewards!

“While we are consistently concentrating our efforts on internal hiring and have invested heavily into our internal recruitment team; we also have a strong commitment to our current team members. Training and development is an important factor here at Heat. We have had five internal promotions in the last six months and look to continue this. With our retention rate sitting at 82 per cent, it’s almost time to start looking for a bigger office! So, watch this space…”

New recruit, Naika Quinones said:

“I’m very excited to join Heat Recruitment. Before I started, I was aware of the company as I followed them on social media channels and they always seemed very active and fun on there. The team have been very welcoming and the training and development on offer is second to none. I look forward to progressing my career here!”
