Meraki Talent, the Scottish recruitment consultancy backed by former Dragons’ Den star James Caan CBE, has announced multiple appointments as part of their market expansion as the business continues to experience unprecedented activity throughout 2019.
The firm are launching an Accountancy & Finance recruitment offering which will serve the needs of clients within Commerce & Industry across the Central Belt of Scotland. In preparation for this they have appointed Neil Woodley, as Director for their Edinburgh office, and Greg McDermott as a Senior Manager in Glasgow; both have formerly worked at larger national competitors and their new respective teams will be focusing on hiring at the Qualified Accounting level.
Alongside the Scottish expansion, Meraki Talent have also hired Craig Rumball, formerly employed by Randstad and Merrill Lynch, as an Associate Director into their London office, which has rapidly grown to six staff since opening in August last year. Overall, the business has grown its headcount by 50% over the past 12 months, at a time when permanent labour supply is deteriorating according to the latest RBS Report on Jobs
Andrew Welsh, CEO and Founder of Meraki Talent, said, “Taking our service offering into Commerce & Industry has always been part of our business plan, however we needed the correct individuals to do so. To that end we are delighted to welcome Neil and Greg to the team. Craig’s appointment is also a coup for our City office and brings considerable Asset Management hiring experience. All of these individuals will be valuable additions and provide considerable experience to our management team and future strategy”.
James Caan, Chairman of Meraki Talent said,
“Meraki’s growth has surpassed all expectations in the current economy. The level of performance they’re experiencing is in no small part related to the high-quality service they provide, as well as the keen focus Andrew and Laura put on attracting, retaining and developing their team of recruitment professionals. I expect 2019 will be a seminal year for this ambitious firm”.
This announcement follows the release of their latest salary survey report on Financial Services in Scotland, which can be downloaded from their website.
