Birmingham-based recruitment firm, Woodrow Mercer, is championing grassroots sport in the West Midlands by sponsoring The Eamonn Fallon Goalkeeper Charity’s annual golf day (6 September 2019).

The Charity was originally set up when 31-year-old Eamonn Fallon from Coventry tragically lost his life in 2017. Aiming to keep Eamonn’s love of sport and coaching alive, the Charity works with young people in local communities to use sport as a foundation for building confidence and promoting team work.

To date, the charity has helped over 35 local children, providing one-to-one coaching sessions, group training camps and equipment for local clubs.

One of the biggest fundraisers of the year is the annual Golf Day, held at Hearsall Golf Club in Coventry. This year sponsored by Woodrow Mercer, the event will see local golfers tee off to raise money for The Eamonn Fallon Goalkeeper Charity. Following the game, the winners of a charity raffle will be revealed, while prizes including overnight stays at local hotels, rounds of golf, football and rugby match tickets and more will be claimed. Tickets are £5, a full list of prizes is below.

Woodrow Mercer, which has offices in Birmingham, London, Leeds, Hull and Nottingham, has been a proud supporter of the charity’s ethos and work in the local area since it was brought to their attention by Ryan O’Toole, Associate Director and personal friend of Eamonn Fallon.

The agency, set up by Managing Director, Dan Ostrowski, was founded in 2012 with the vision of developing an ethical recruitment company that goes above and beyond for its staff, customers and candidates.

Ostrowski said:

“We are extremely proud to be sponsoring The Eamonn Fallon Goalkeeper Charity. Not only is its mission to promote grassroots sport something that we wholeheartedly encourage, but we also want to show our support to Ryan and Eamonn’s friends and family after going through such a tragic experience. We hope we can help the charity raise as much money as possible to keep up the fantastic work it’s already been doing.”

Ryan O’Toole was appointed as Woodrow Mercer’s Associate Director for transactional finance and businesses services in April 2019.

He added:

“Eamonn was a good friend of mine and I’m so happy that we’re able to help the Fallon family keep his sporting legacy alive – I’m so grateful to Woodrow Mercer for all its support.”
