Morgan McKinley Professional Services Division Expands with New Head of Legal

Global financial and professional services recruiter Morgan McKinley has announced the appointment of James Franklin. James has been hired to head up the Legal recruitment division in the UK that has grown exponentially in terms of both billings and headcount over the past twelve months.

With over eleven years’ recruitment experience, James Franklin joins Morgan McKinley as an Associate Director. After spending a decade working at Robert Walters where he worked his way up to Associate Director, James moved to a specialist legal recruitment company. James has a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the legal sector and has a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Greenwich, as well as completing the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School.

This hire comes after a strong year of growth for the Professional Services team and will help to ensure the Legal team can fully harness the increased opportunities that Brexit is generating, both in-house and in private practice.

Recently, Morgan McKinley launched the 2019 UK Legal salary guide which showed the sectors in highest demand for legal roles are Banking & Finance, Company/Commercial, Corporate M&A and TMT, making up 40% of the total volume of jobs registered. Dispute Resolution and Employment have also seen an increase in jobs, and Real Estate/Property roles continued to be demanded in London, despite a slight drop off in vacancies seen during the second half of the year.

Hakan Enver, Managing Director of Morgan McKinley UK said:

“It is a pleasure to welcome James on board to lead our Legal practice across the UK. James brings a wealth of experience which can only enhance our existing Professional Services product offering even further into the legal sector. Working alongside experienced consultants within this sector, it is an incredibly exciting time for Morgan McKinley.”
