Karen Stewart, the first franchisee appointed by Glasgow-based IT recruitment firm Nine Twenty, is on target for £1.5m turnover in her first year.

Nine Twenty Recruitment has over 13 years of experience recruiting across permanent and temporary IT roles. During this time it has built up a successful track record of delivering for clients across the entire IT sector, and has unrivalled networks, connections and brand reputation.

Nine Twenty utilises the best technologies on the market to engage clients and candidates. Recruitment is changing. Nine Twenty has identified the need to evolve with the times to reflect the ever changing digital demand across all industries. As a result it has developed an in-house Digital Marketing Function in order to support its clients.

Karen initially joined the agency as an employee in June 2015 after training with another recruitment firm after leaving school.  She quickly built up an excellent track record, specialising in the engineering and manufacturing sector in Scotland. However, she always had ambitions to be her own business. By a happy coincidence the firm’s managing director Gordon Brown had been thinking about company expansion via the franchising route.

“When Gordon announced his plans to franchise the business I was delighted. I loved the culture within Nine Twenty and it meant I could set up my own business without having to leave the company,” said Karen.

She added:

“Since starting my business in April I have recruited four consultants, including engineering specialists.  We have managed to secure some excellent contracts with some of the world’s leading engineering and manufacturing companies. This has put us on target to generate revenues of £1.5m in our first year of trading.

“Nine Twenty has a number of unique digital tools which give us a real edge in the recruitment market and enable us to add a lot of value to our offering to employers in areas such as succession planning and talent management. The company also has fantastic back office systems which means my team can focus on customer service with candidates and employers.”

In order to continue its steady and organic growth within the industry, Nine Twenty is now actively looking for self-motivated and commercially successfully individuals with a passion for technology, who are looking to progress their career through ownership of their own recruitment franchise business. Particularly, it is looking for franchise partners all across England and in Aberdeen.

Alan Crockert, Non-Executive Director of Nine Twenty Recruitment adds:

“The beauty of a franchise is you have 100% ownership of your business, allowing you to make all the key decisions and be in complete control, but with a proven successful brand behind you who have put operation guides and practices in place to help you succeed.”
