Proposed Recruitment Sector Reforms and Tackling Labour Market Exploitation

Important information from the Department for Business, Innovation and SkillsIn 2013 the Coalition Government consulted on reforms to recruitment sector legislation.  The Government has today published a consultation on specific proposed changes to the legislation. The consultation also outlines a proposal to ban employment agencies and employment businesses recruiting from other EEA countries without advertising  in Great Britain and In English.

This consultation seeks views on proposed changes to the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations. Government intends to keep regulations which provide protection for work-seekers, but remove some business to business regulation and simplify the legislation where possible.

Also proposed is a ban on employment agencies and businesses from recruiting solely from other European Economic Area (EEA) countries without advertising in Great Britain. The Government has also today published….
