Leading IR35 insurance and tax consultancy, Qdos, has appointed contractor recruitment expert, Dominic Johns, to the new role of Head of Business Development, as the company embarks on a strategy for growth by strengthening its offering to agencies and direct engagers.
Having worked at the forefront of contractor, recruitment and umbrella insurance for 18 years and with experience of scaling a specialist IT contract agency, Dominic brings with him the exceptional depth of knowledge needed to provide high quality and compliant insurance solutions in the evolving employment and business landscape.
His all-around experience of the contractor and recruitment markets will be invaluable to agencies, umbrella and payroll companies as they prioritise managing risk amid recent and incoming reforms.
Dominic said of his appointment:
“Changes to hiring legislation mean it’s now vital that companies engaging contractors protect themselves with insurance. I’m delighted to join the team and plan to use my understanding of the market to make sure businesses are able to continue to benefit from engaging contractors while safeguarding their liabilities.
“Qdos has a well-earned reputation as one of the biggest and most trusted insurance brokers in the UK for this growing market. The knowledge I’ve acquired over the years positions me well to help a wider range of companies manage their exposure to risks.”
Seb Maley, Qdos CEO, said:
“With further IR35 reform on the horizon, Dominic’s appointment is a timely one and marks an important next step in our ability to offer a number of tailored insurance solutions to companies of different sizes and industries.
“The recruitment industry, in particular, continues to perform well albeit in uncertain times, while the vast majority of its turnover is made up from contractor placements. With this in mind, it’s hugely important for these companies to have trusted and personalised insurances in place, offering invaluable protection and peace of mind.”
