A leading Midlands-based recruitment consultancy has brought its annual fundraising efforts to a close raising over £7,000 for charities in the region.
Macildowie handed over an equal share of the total raised, which exceeded £7,100, to the Loughborough children’s hospice Rainbows, the Melton Mowbray-based Matt Hampson Foundation, which supports young people injured through sport, and mental health charity Mind (Derbyshire).
Fundraising activities throughout the year consisted of sponsored runs, including Nottingham Half Marathon, dress up days, and a summer BBQ, where prizes, such as a week in a private villa in Spain, a spa day and access to a top of the range Mercedes for a weekend, were donated by Macildowie staff.
James Taylor, managing director of Macildowie, said:
“It is always one of my favourite days of the year when we hand over the cheques to our chosen charities. We’re delighted to support the outstanding work of Rainbows, the Matt Hampson Foundation and Mind Derbyshire.
“Our staff all really enjoy organising and taking part in our charity work and we are looking forward to raising even more money over the course of the next year.”
Work has already started on raising funds for three new charities chosen by employees in Macildowie’s offices in Nottingham, Leicester and Milton Keynes. These include the Alzheimer’s Society, Loros Hospice, which provides care for terminally ill adults and their families in Leicestershire, and the Willen Hospice, which offers specialist end-of-life care in Milton Keynes.
Fundraising efforts have kicked off with a cake sale and staff based in Leicester recently took part in the Rothley 10k run.
