Recruitment market hits most positive level in years

Following a period of caution and inactivity, the job market has rebounded to reach its most positive level this decade, according to C&M Recruitment Consultancy.

The claim follows the release of new figures showing that the number of new vacancies placed with the company in the first six months of the year increased by 3.01 per cent compared to 2012 and by a huge 12.76 per cent compared to the same period in 2010.

The annual increase is even more impressive considering the 0.83 per cent fall in new vacancies that was seen in the first half of 2012 compared to the first six months of 2011, and is a clear indication that companies’ hiring intentions are improving.

In addition, recent research from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and KPMG found that permanent job placements rose at their fastest rate since April 2011, while figures from the BDO claimed that UK companies’ intentions to create more jobs increased to their highest level in nearly two years.
