Leading finance and back office provider to the recruitment industry, Simplicity have been unveiled as new kit sponsors of Gloucester Rugby for the Aviva Premiership season 2016/17.

The partnership is a significant step up for the Mitcheldean-based company, which provides outsourced back office and financial solutions to the UK recruitment industry. For the past two seasons Simplicity have sponsored Gloucester’s ball boys and will continue to do so in addition to becoming new kit sponsors for the forthcoming season.

simplicity_600x357David Thornhill, Managing Director of Simplicity, said:

“Gloucester is one of the strongest rugby brands in Europe, and to be associated with them – in any capacity – is a privilege.

The team at Simplicity are passionate about their rugby, which makes the connection between our organisations an emotional as well as a business one. This made the decision to extend our existing level of sponsorship feel more like a natural progression and strengthens our existing relationship with the Cherry and Whites. But, it was also the right time for us to support a team whose world-class ambitions match our own.”

Mr Thornhill said that there are obvious and genuine synergies between the club and Simplicity. He added:

“We each operate in a highly competitive environment that is seeing more and more operators fishing in the same pool – each vying to find and attract the best talent available.

We are also forward-thinking, innovative and driven. With David Humphreys as director of rugby at the club along with the recently announced salary cap rise to £6.5 million, the prospects for the club over the coming season look exciting.”

The deal see’s the Simplicity logo emblazoned on the sleeves of Gloucester Rugby shirts for the 2016/17 season, which kicked off on Friday 2nd September.

Alongside Simplicity as new kit sponsors will be Volvic and Venue Now, with the new kit now on general sale at the Gloucester Rugby Megastore.

Never switches off. Dubbed as Mr Innovation by colleagues and industry, in 1987 David Thornhill first started out in the recruitment industry as a payroll clerk for a local firm in Gloucestershire, Staff UK. David went onto write the first ever software model of its kind for the temp recruitment market, integrating payroll, invoicing, sales ledger, funding and comprehensive management reporting; in essence creating a completely new funding supplier sector.

Prior to the Cash Simply venture he also worked as a board director for another recruitment company, where David used his extensive operational, accountancy and IT skills, to streamline processes and grow the business through increased cash flow and cost savings.

In April 2004, David aka “Mr Innovation” and Tom Atkinson joined forces to launch and begin trading under the brand name Cash Simply, which marked the start of a company based on a similar model to those they had previously developed to great success. They have progressed from a standing start to an annual turnover of more than £45 million, and have built an operational base that could double or treble that volume.

When he’s not dreaming up his next business venture, David enjoys running, attending music festivals and doing the occasional charity skydive. His next challenge is to complete a marathon.
