This Talent Solutions Provider is Offering up the Chance of a Three-Day Working Week


Bristol based talent solutions provider Paratus People have introduced a unique flexible working scheme for all of their employees.

The flexible working scheme is performance-based and offers up huge potential reward for hitting their monthly hiring targets. If the individual employee makes six deals in one month, they will be allowed every Thursday and Friday in the subsequent month off – reducing them to a three-day working week.

There’s no financial penalty either, this reward will be granted to each employee who hits the target and their salary will not be affected, even if they should continually make the six deals.

The scheme applies to all employees old and new, junior to management level and has been rolled out with immediate effect.

Paratus People Managing Director, Tom White, said:

“Flexible working is gaining great traction at the moment, and I was intrigued. After doing a bit of research, I realised that nobody in Bristol was doing anything like our scheme and I was quite surprised. Hiring professionals are sales-led and target-driven, so I wanted to provide an incentive that allowed them to still strive for those goals, while also getting rewarded.

“UK workers spend more time at the office than anywhere else in Europe, but our productivity levels are among the lowest in the Western World and, crucially, they aren’t improving.

“We know that a culture of longer hours doesn’t work – in fact it’s estimated that in a normal work day the average UK employee only manages three hours of actual work. If my team can meet their targets in three days rather than five, why should I make them come into the office for the extra two days?”

Talent Consultant, Hugh Jones, thinks this incentive will motivate him to earn more free time to spend with his partner:

“I’m really excited to take part in this incentive. Not only does it spur me on to hit my goals, but it is such a generous reward. You can end up having from eight to 10 days off a month and you really can do what you want with it.

“I’m on track to hit the bonus at the moment, and if I meet my target, I will use the time to visit and spend a long weekend with my girlfriend. She lives a few hundred miles away and I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like, so it’s an absolutely invaluable incentive for me.”
