The Recruitment Agency Expo is the UK’s largest trade-only event dedicated to recruitment agencies; one that sees thousands of industry professionals showcase their knowledge, services and products.

With the two-day 2018 event taking place on 31st January and 1st February, organisers are expecting record crowds, influenced by the eclectic range of Exhibitors and Speakers that have confirmed their attendance.

If you are all set to visit London Olympia for the show, here are some tips to ensure you spend your time wisely.

Arrive early

The first few hours of each day are renowned for being the busiest, with both Visitors and Exhibitors wanting to get stuck in and get a feel for what’s ahead. As a result, it is advisable to get to the venue as early as possible, walking around the stands and reading the seminar schedules before networking. From here, you can create a loose plan, making notes of the must-see seminars.

Speak to everyone

Whether you are a recruiter, software developer or digital marketer, keep an open mind when attending this year’s event. Although you will have your top targets, you will be surprised at just how many companies you could potentially do business with. This is why it is advisable to talk to anyone and everyone; you never know when a relationship could prove to be beneficial for your company.

Attend seminars

While the exhibitors themselves will take centre stage, it is essential that you take time to attend a few of the event’s seminars, with the 2018 line-up trumping all previous years. From marketing gurus and technology giants to governing bodies, it’s amazing just how much you can learn from other people working in the industry.

In 2018, the prevalent themes of the seminars are GDPR, automation, AI (Artificial Intelligence) and social recruiting; key topics for businesses in all areas of recruitment.

Take notes

Being such a fast-paced event, the exhibition can be quite overwhelming, with so many conversations taking place over the course of the day. This is why it can be beneficial to make notes, recapping the details of each discussion and what the call to action is. This way, you ensure you make the most of each conversation, not letting opportunities pass you by.

Follow up

Lastly, we have ‘follow up’; a tip that is arguably the most important. Whilst verbal agreements and signing things off with a handshake can work, in order to get the most from your networking efforts you must follow up. Whether it be a phone call a few days after the event or a quick email thanking someone for their time at the exhibition, following up ensures no opportunities slip through the net.

Book your tickets

If you are yet to book your tickets, don’t worry, there is still time. Head over to the Recruitment Agency Expo website now for more details.
