Weston-super-Mare-based Weston College of further and higher education, has won the prestigious Employer of the Year Award, sponsored by Give a Grad a Go, at the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards 2019 for its exceptional performance.
The flagship national awards, held at Grosvenor House Hotel in London each year, honour the UK’s most creative and innovative businesses who set new standards of excellence within their sectors.
The judges were impressed by both the financial and emotional investment that
Weston College has made in all its employees during the last 12 months. The College has introduced a range of initiatives to help all employees develop new skills and maximise their potential.
As the 9th largest college in the UK, Weston College credits its growth to the inspirational leadership from Dr Paul Phillips CBE, who ensures each member of staff feels highly valued. Through an innovative working environment, the College has successfully won contracts worth more than £6million, transforming staff development through bespoke CPD programmes, adopting digital advocates and implementing a unique awarding winning programme of ‘Body and Mind’ to support staff mental health and wellbeing.
